What’s involved?

We are surveying visitors to Colchester Castle (open 7 days a week) and Hollytrees Museum (open Monday – Saturday). Volunteers are asked to give around 2 hours a week, but this can be done at whatever time suits you.

Duties could include:

  • Conducting visitor surveys and recording general comments at Colchester Castle and the Hollytrees Museum.
  • Welcoming visitors and answering their questions.
  • Promoting our exhibitions and events by sharing Colchester Museums social media.

We are able to reimburse travel expenses for this role.

Why get involved?

Training on conducting visitor surveys will be provided. Volunteers will also be able to develop customer service skills. Volunteering with us offers a great opportunity to anyone with a keen interest in the arts or museums, or looking for valuable experience for the future.
